Simineh Rud Reservoir Dam is located in a distance of 21 Km to the southwest of Bukan after conjunction of the main river branches above Shahrikand Village. Construction of the clay-cored earth dam consisted of earthworks, stabilization, excavation and injection, formwork, and casting as well as construction of buildings, roads and general utilities.

Main Project Objectives

• Supplying 269 million m3 of water per annum to the agricultural lands of Bukan, Shahrikand, Dashband, and left bank of Zarineh Rud
• Continuous exploitation of 32 million m3 of water from underground water resources during the construction period in order to meet the agricultural needs
• Long-term supply of 37.5 million m3 of water per annum to Bukan in accordance with 2036 vision
• Supply of 1 m3/s water to the river environment as well as the excessive current of the middle basin
• Controlling the Simineh Rud river floods
