Construction of the northern pumping station of Hasanlu Dam was a part a lager project for Water Supply and Construction of Irrigation and Drainage Grid of Naqadeh. The project aims at construction of the northern pumping station of Hasanlu Dam for pressurized irrigation of the agricultural lands in heights of this lake and Lake Urmia as a part of Naqadeh Plane Irrigation and Drainage Grid.

Construction of pumping station, intake structure of the dam, intake tower canals, and transmission lines between intake tower and pumping station, as well as the retaining wall next to the intake are the most important operations of this project.
